How to Change Wolff Tanning-Bed Bulbs

Changing Wolff tanning-bed bulbs is similar to changing other types of tanning bed bulbs. It's recommended that tanning bed bulbs be replaced after they've used up 80 percent of their total life. It's also important to change all of the bulbs at one time to avoid uneven tanning.

Instructions

  • Note the model number on your Wolff tanning bed. You will need this to find out exactly which bulbs you'll need. They come in various model numbers and strengths, ranging from 80 watts to 160 watts.
  • Shop for the correct model of replacement bulbs either by going online or by visiting local retailers. You'll find the best price ranges online, and many Web retailers will offer shipping deals.
  • Unplug the tanning bed. You want to make sure you do this to prevent any type of electric shock or injury.
  • Unscrew and remove the glass portions on the tanning bed so that you have access to the tanning bed bulbs.
  • Carefully remove the tanning bulbs currently in place by squeezing their ends, popping their prongs out of place, and gently lifting the bulb out of the socket.
  • Insert the new Wolf tanning bed bulbs, making sure each bulb is securely in place before proceeding to the next. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all remaining bulbs.
  • Replace the glass that covers the bulbs, screwing each glass piece back into place, and then plug in the tanning bed.
  • Make a note of the date the tanning bed bulbs were replaced. Depending on the bulbs your bed uses, you can get up to 1,000 hours of usage before they need to be replaced again.
